A 20 plus year veteran of cybersecurity, Dave is a cybersecurity thought leader who hosts a weekly cybersecurity newscast, bi-monthly video broadcasts/podcasts, articles and other press commentary.

 

Dave Klein works with enterprises, governments and other industry thought leaders on the challenges of securing modern hybrid cloud environments. He is a globally recognized leader within the industry.  Dave Klein is driven by the concept that cybersecurity in order to be successful, must be tied to enterprise business risk reduction and competitive differentiation by being a business enabler not disabler. He also feels cybersecurity must be adoptable by all and emphasizes the importance of being able to reach all skill levels encouraging easy adoption and growth.

 

Dave has spoken on a wide variety of cybersecurity topics including nation-state espionage, ransomware, crypto-jacking, adopting offensive cybersecurity techniques to optimize enterprise defenses and reduce risk, micro-segmentation,  hybrid cloud adoption, PCI compliance, educating on the stages of the cyber security kill chain, understanding interactions between the physical and cyber worlds as it relates to the radicalization and arming of domestic terrorists and using cyber forensics in real world criminal cases.

 

A serial startup entrepreneur Dave helps drive growth and industry adoption of offensive testing, purple teaming and continuous automated security assessment solution startup, Cymulate. Before that, he successfully did the same for micro-segmentation startup Guardicore from its infancy to purchase by Akamai Technologies in 2021.  Dave was the Engineering Manager Forcepoint’s Federal Sector where he drove growth by adapting the company’s behavioral heuristics, bayesian logic and predictive capabilities to defend US agencies against Insider and Advanced Persistent Threats.   Dave also worked with other vendors, government and private sector entities on the NIST response to Presidential Policy Directive 21 on Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience.  Prior thus, Dave was a security leader at Cisco Systems.  Always a visionary, Dave saw opportunity in Cisco Network Admission Control, Ironport Web and Mail Gateways and other core Cisco security offerings.  As both an individual contributor and leader Dave was responsible for some the largest US Federal security solution sales.  Before that Dave worked for McAfee.  His work there included working with the City of New York post 9/11 for three years - commuting by train daily to help shore up cyber defenses there and developing a National State and Local Government engineering and sales team.
